Eugenia Harvey is a multiple award-winning Television Executive, having recently served as the Director of Entertainment and Weekend News Programming for Arise Television, a London-based network broadcast into more than 90 million homes worldwide. 

Within three years, Eugenia developed eight shows, successfully negotiated syndication deals, and executive produced multinational specials covering events including the Kidnapping of Nigeria’s Girls, the 2015 Academy Awards, the Cannes Film Festival and NY Fashion Week.

In 2007, Eugenia went back to producing full-time. She was brought in as Executive Producer of BET’s Meet the Faith, a news and cultural affairs program. Over the next few years, she developed and Executive-Produced a number of television shows and documentaries. In 2010, she was tapped by BET Centric to be Co-Executive Producer of 100 episodes of The Steve Harvey Project. She is currently Executive Producing a series of news specials for BET News and producing a special series with PBS NewsHour called Race Matters: Solutions, with Civil Rights icon Charlayne Hunter-Gault.

 

Eugenia is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and lives in New York City.

    My passion for travel started back in 1980 when my grandfather took me to Disney World for the first time. I can still sense the feeling that I had when I walked through those gates. That fire continued to burn deep inside my heart and has not been extinguished. My mother was a travel agent so my brother and I traveled extensively throughout our childhood. While pursuing my degree in Business Administration at Georgia State University, I worked at The Hilton in downtown Atlanta. With over 1225 rooms to manage and a staff of over 50 people, I swiftly moved up the corporate ladder from a Front Desk Clerk to the Assistant Director of Front Office within 18 months! If you are a numbers person, this means that I have been in the Hospitality industry for over 30 years!

    Like all young kids I anxiously awaited the last day of school.  It was a family tradition that we would jump into our Winnebago, shed the urban landscape of Chicago and visit the American landmarks we learned about in history class.  I can recall the sheer excitement of walking up to the Grand Canyon, standing in awe of Old Faithful and discovering the overwhelming majesty of the Redwoods in California.  These early experiences ignited the desire in me to want more. 

     

    More is exactly what I received when I started developing my formal creative vision at Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois.  Studying both television and film helped to redefine, sharpen and monetize my visual lens.  Collaborating on a portfolio of projects afforded me the opportunity to hold principle roles as location scout, cinematographer, editor and director.  This passion has taken me all over the world cataloguing some of the most amazing life stores through documentaries. 

                                                                    

    Today, I call New York City my home.  Here I use my creative talents to help propel brands beyond limits to capture new market share.  Working with global brands such as Kraft Heinz, Nestle, Avis Budget, T-Mobile and Samsung, I get to combine my talents and skills on executing some very successful marketing campaigns to get more.  In addition to my career achievements, I have spent 12 years working with students in economically challenged communities the Bronx, NY and in Hartford, CT mentoring them to academic excellence.  I begin each new class by holding up my passport and saying, “My passport is my most prized possession.  It has no real value but the access it provides is priceless.”  I try to use my life to arouse that sense of adventure in both my students and clients.  The same adventure my parents used to inspire me.
