Anakeesta = An Exceptional Outdoor Experience In Gatlinburg
Nearly a year ago fire ravaged Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Visiting now, there are few reminders of the fires and visitors are flocking back in huge numbers to see what's new. On our recent trip to escape Hurricane Irma, we were EDUTAINED at ANAKEESTA - where you can experience magic in the mountains! What is at the TOP of Anakeesta? Well you will have to make the journey and absorb the freshness and crisp air. We are THE fashioneer, so here is a photo journal of our exclusive tour, 1 day before the ribbon cutting ceremony!
Your trip to Anakeesta starts on the main strip at 576 Parkway of Gatlinburg. For a single price, you ascend 14 minutes, 600+ feet to the 70 acre property for a spectacular view of Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. You choose the method of ascent - Chondola (enclosed) or Chair lift (similar to a ski-lift chair).
You will see great views from all around the property!
Also at the top, you will enjoy shops, dining and a quarter-mile long treetop canopy walk 40'-60' feet above the forest. Kids (of all ages) can play on a treehouse playground - we tried it out during our private tour; it's FUN!
EATING - Did we mention there is great food up there? Don't leave without trying the Turkey-BBQ Bacon & Fries at the Smokehouse... It is SO-GOOD! Also, have some sweets at Peals Pie in the Sky.
SHOPPING - Yes, you can pick up local finds and some ANAKEESTA memories to take home with you!
PLAY - Playgrounds, Mining, Tree Canopy, a tribute to the recent fire in Gatlinburg seen through local artist and for an additional fee - you can ZIP - high above it all (and it's a thrill for certain).
What's coming soon? a custom made mountain coaster, restaurant with incredible views and an entertainment amphitheater - with views of the Smoky Mountain National Park as a back-drop.
Make your visit to Gatlinburg special and soak in the views and fun with your family, friends and love-ones. OUR Top Pick new destination in the Smoky Mountains!
