From Islamophobic to Islamic Leader: Richard McKinney on "The Secret Life of Muslims"
No more hate lets educate, because nothing good comes from hate! Education and exposure create channels of healing for our world!
“The Secret Life of Muslims,” the Emmy, Peabody-nominated (and Wilbur-winning!) docuseries that profiles the stories of real Muslims in America, ran its penultimate episode yesterday morning on CBS Sunday Morning.
The episode featured veteran Marine Richard McKinney, who once harbored so much hate and Islamophobia, he planned to blow up a mosque near his home in Muncie, Indiana, but was embraced by the Muslim community and converted to Islam instead. He even became a community leader at the same mosque years later! His story is one about redemption, peace, and love in the face of extreme hatred.
